You can ALWAYS get a wither skeleton skull if you kill it with a charged creeper (more details in comments)

The trident can invoke lightnings to mobs if it is enchanted with channeling (it only works if the weather is in thunder)

This way to get skulls/heads also applies to zombies and skeletons.

On bedrock you can use the creeper on strays and itbwill also give wither skulls.

Few things. Only one skull at a time can drop. And it takes a bunch of effort to get the proper setup. Tbh building a wither skeleton farm in a fortress is more fun and just generally better because you also get gold and blaze rods from killing the mobs.

Yep I forgot to say that first, but it's a simply way to get skulls for a beginning game, before making the big farm.

after building a wither farm I can confidently say that it was the worst thing I've ever had the displeasure to create in this game. seriously, that shit is incredibly time consuming. I'd rather afk in a fortress and kill skeletons for a few hours.

Channeling on the trident. IT only works if there are thunders in the weather

Can drowned spawn with channeling enchanted tridents? Because I'm thinking you could automate this with a drowned, a creeper farm and a Wither skeleton farm to get a ton of Wither skeleton skulls, assuming you're lucky enough to get the drowned to spawn.

EDIT: Forgot that channeling requires rain. Fuck ton of Wither skeleton skulls when it's raining? Idk. Seems like a lot of effort for something very situational I guess.

Well, what i do is to look on fortress for wither skeletons and "storage" them on the overworld with nametags (to avoid the despawn), then i wait until there be a storm to search for creepers and take them to the wither storage, with one storm I got 2 beacons. I know it sounds tedious, but it's another way to get them easily than with a looting 3 sword

drowned will never spawn with enchanted tridents AFAIK (they'll never drop them for sure).

I have a wither skelly spawner in bedrock edition on a realm (was a reward from the host) and i was wondering if you can get skulls from trident killchambers while holding a looting sword
